Pete and I went to see The Fabulous Anthems Show at The Brunswick in Hove on Friday night and absolutely loved it!

As someone with Autism and ADHD, I haven’t always gone out socially very much, but that’s changing, and I’m so glad it is.

The music was fantastic, the energy was amazing, and Vic, who I work with, was absolutely outstanding, especially her AC/DC and Bonnie Tyler performances.

It was also great to meet Joel, the fabulous and super-talented band leader, and Aiden, the drummer. As someone who’s always wanted to play drums, I particularly enjoyed our chat about live music technology and the inevitable technical gremlins!

What I loved most was the sparkle, diversity and inclusivity of the band. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and as a trans ally I felt instantly comfortable.

A fantastic evening with wonderful people, great music and lots of laughs.

I’ll keep everyone updated with upcoming gigs on Shows, here on Facebook/Social Media, because I’d love for us to get together and go along as a group. Sometimes it’s nice to have a few friendly faces around, and there’s definitely safety in numbers! More importantly, it’s a chance to get out, have a dance, enjoy a drink, sing along, and forget about the stresses of the world for a few hours.
