Hi, I’m Simone Wilson, and while I might be the new kid on the block at Trans Radio UK, I’ve been sharing music with others for as long as I can remember – starting at the age of eight playing my sister’s vinyl on a classic Dancette record player.
By the late 70s, I’d launched my own mobile roadshow, spinning tunes in pubs, clubs, and at parties during the golden age of disco. With the rise of 12” singles, I dabbled in basic mixing long before the era of modern club DJs. And yes, I still dust off the decks now and then for the odd party!
Radio quickly became a second home – twiddling knobs and pushing buttons felt like second nature. These days, you can catch me every Monday at 4 p.m. with the UK Top 40 Show, counting down the hottest tracks and keeping you up to date with what’s topping the charts.
But my musical taste is as wide as it gets – from classical to contemporary, blues to jazz-funk, country to club anthems – so if I pop up elsewhere on TRUK, expect the unexpected. No matter the genre, it’ll always be great music.
You’ll also hear me filling in for our fabulous team of presenters across the station – and I can’t wait to share the journey with you!
